Leopard print

I am a little behind on sorting through my images - I need to start taking < 30 pictures when I do new nails... Or get off my back side and make the light box I've been wanting to make for a few months now.

Anyway I tend to shy away from doing the 'over done' manicures especially ones I have wraps for, but last night I was totally out of ideas, motivation, time and energy.

So cheeky stamp plate ch2 and very little effort.

Max factor whispering ivory for the base
Konad special polish in black
And filled in some of the dots
OPI liquid sand Tiffany Case from the Bond Collection

No top Coat because black stamping polish smudges like a biiiatch :-(

I have 4 or 5 manicures at least to blog I just need to sort through the images

Stamping + Glitter Disaster

A cautionary tale of over designing

I knew from the beginning I wanted this to be a blog for me, to show my improvement and what not...
So I feel its only right I show off when I have a disaster too.

Thank you Ebay finallllly got my hands on OPI Absolutely Alice!!!! - excellent what on earth can I go with this...

Experiment time!

Barry M Matte White
Barry M Gelly Guava
Barry M Gelly Plum

These should go nicely with this polish, I thought, what could go wrong, I thought

The addition of stamping, that's what...
I painted 2 coats of  White on my middle 3 fingers
and 1 coat of each the Purple and the blue....so far fine and dandy =]

nice ombre nail in the center.... beautiful

So for the first time ever I sat down with a theme in my head (Alice in Wonderland) and got a planning
my early plan had me painting Absolutly Alice over plain nails except my ring finger I would do a swirly partern....wait a second don I have a swirly stamp plate???? (this was my first mistake)
so out came the stamp plates...ooohhh thisone llooks a little like a bottle - I could add drink me to it
oooh I dont have a cake I could use for eat me.... ooof cupcake- perfect agian
mmm a key there was a key in that scene I guess I could free hand a lock hole no RESULT I have a key stamp tooo and so the design was coming along nicely

Gradient Stamping.... never tried this before ring finger went gorgeous but my pointy (index) finger the design I chose was little and fiddly so I thought ahhh ill just layer it
it look fine the glitter will cover the imperfections (next mistake)

NOT ALICE ENOUGH!!!

Cup cake with wiggly EAT ME =] yumyum             and the drinks bottle - DRINK ME sure why not

 And here was the downfalll

I added the glitter - well this glitter is SOOOO densly packed it did not just cover the imperfections it basically covered up the design as well =[=[=[

sooooo after trying to fix it and stamping on the top I found this to be a massive fail too- OPI Absolutely Alice does NOT dry fast

ANYWAY

Alice does (as I originally thought) look fabbbb over the Plum - the dark purple background realllly makes the blue glitter POP and overr the Guava it looks lush - njot only does the blue look great the lighter blue blackground blends theblue glitter slightly and the gold stands out amazinggggggg

all in alll this was an experiement that I guess suceeded becuase I found out that Alice looks gre t over solid colours and perhaps over gradient and terrible over anyting else!!!!

Ye Olde Nails

Back before I knew how to take care of my cuticles and how to really clean up my polish and fun stamps where new too me. These where my two favourite manicures. I have since repeated the idea of the white on pale pink with other full nail stamps and it is still one of my favourite looks =]

Minnie Mouse

This manicure was a pure rip off from Polish Art Addiction It was a "saw this and needed it in my life" moment.
It was also a challenge for me, because, although I DO have a polka dot stamp plate for easy spots I DON'T have a  bow stamp =[ (yet) so it was a challenge (could I recreate by hand what a stamping plate can do in seconds)

The result - I would not recommended doing this (or anything that can be stamped) by hand, especially if you're a perfectionist - I had to give up on perfect and settle for OK.

PurseNails

Since I am relatively new to blogging, I thought I would upload some of my old manicures too

The pictures are a bit rubbish (but I'm still pretty rubbish at that to be honest)
Also, I created a new water mark and went a tad overboard with it (I was quite excited about making it!)

So, around Christmas time (2012) I bought a new purse and when I got it home I realised I had a stamping plate with roses on it

I can’t remember what pink I used but the red is Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in Rouge Couture Midnight Red #287

I have found this polish stamps really well over most lighter colours, but not great over darker colours, so if you’re looking for a red polish to stamp over darker colours I would still recommend the Konad special polishes!

Animal Stamps and New Polish

Yesterday I was in the supermarket getting some shopping with my mum and when I wandered past the Rimmel stand a purple polish just screamed at me to buy it(as they so often do!!), so in the trolley it went. Obviously as soon as I got home I had to try it and I have been itching to try some of my tip stamps and see how straight I could get them (so far I have failed miserably at getting them straight)

Not one to be content with a single colour or pattern I thought I would try stamping some of my newer Barry M Gelly Polishes as well (over at Brit Nails, Allie had suggested the Gelly polishes were great for stamping but I hadn't had a chance to try them yet!)

The result :
Well I like them

I stamped each of the colours over the white tips of my Acrylic nails so I apologize about the state of my cuticles , they are in a pretty sorry state

Read more to see what colours I used.

Lost

So, Since I have lost my camera charger and broke my phone my blog is off to a giant HALT!

Today I bring you, bad photography of a rather (imo) nice manicure.

This is a very Picture Heavy post as non of the pictures quite captured the manicure on their own.
I will also update , when it is NOT 3am the products used

This is only the 4th time I have done a full set of Acrylic nails on myself and I have to say I am happy with how the tips turned out, but the plain white tips were boring so i had to spice them up a bit  (didn't I?)

Anyway I thought    some   colour would be nice so i added some pink and blue swipes along the smile line and a white stamped flower. Not happy with just this i added a coat of fine glitter to give it some GLITZ!      Which was fine for about half an hour and my Gleaquins were staring at me from their box,soi added a pink one in the center of each flower.

The result:
